Scope
AEM Ltd was appointed by the client to provide electrical and mechanical services for this £3.5million upgrade at the popular County Down sporting venue. Within the new development a new turnstile buildings was constructed with ancillary accommodation, new corporate facilities which included a dining suite that can cater for up to 440 people and refurbishment work to the existing stand. The new turnstile building included five turnstile booths, a ticket collection office, a race cards office and a control room.

As well as the dining suite a total of 10 new corporate boxes have been provided at first floor level. All of the boxes have access to a viewing gallery with panoramic views of the racecourse and finishing line. A state of the art function room is located on the first floor which complete with modern bar facilities. A function room, kitchen and pantry kitchen have been provided at this level to service the suite and private boxes.

The overall Electrical Building Services costs for the complete programme were valued at £400,000. The project from start to finish was 12 months and was completed on time and within budget.

Methodology

AEM Ltd produced a master programme which was developed in our programme around key milestones. This was then issued to the main contractor for approval. Throughout the project, this programme was updated and revised to take account of new design information, progress from main contractor and other team members that influenced our installation.

Our Contractor Engineer and Contracts Director attended weekly progress meetings with main contractor to ensure the efficient progress on site by forward planning of co-ordinated works. Key information from these meetings was then passed to our foremen and our site co-ordinator. This system ensured that the project was delivered.
