Scope
Charles Hurst is Northern Ireland’s largest retail motor group and is a major trading subsidiary of Lookers plc.

During 2005 the company continued its major capital investment with new Chrysler Jeep showroom opening on its 22-acre site on Belfast’s Boucher Road. AEM Ltd contributed to this project by providing Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Services.

AEM Ltd was appointed to provide Electrical and Mechanical installations by the client.

AEM Ltd provided the following electrical installations:

• Main switchboard and sub mains
• Lighting & Emergency lighting throughout workshops, office and showroom
• Exterior lighting
• Fire alarm
• Intruder alarm
• TV/Satellite
• PA system

AEM Ltd also provided the following mechanical installations:

• Gas installation
• War air heating units
• AC Plant & Condensers
• Ductwork & Ventilation
• Sanity ware
• Water heater
• General plumbing

Complexity
Planning and organisation was required for deliveries, site parking and waste disposal due to the heavy traffic besides this building. As showrooms had high ceilings, working at height had to be well controlled for the purpose of installing lighting and general plumbing works.

Methodology
To provide a high-class and quality end product for a prestige brand of vehicle manufacturer. The end product had to look clean, exciting, and comfortable and in an environment which could sell the Chrysler brand.
