Project: Centre for Molecular Biosciences
Client: University of Ulster Coleraine
This building is the UK’s top-rated unit for Biomedical Sciences Research. The University was successful in obtaining funding of £14.5m, under the Support Programme for University Research (SPUR) initiative, to facilitate the construction and equipping of a new Centre for Molecular Biosciences (CMB) at the Coleraine Campus.
With this funding the university has been able to provide a new four-storey, 6,700 square metre building with laboratory facilities housing the highest specification equipment currently available
University of Ulster appointed AEM Ltd to provide and install associated Electrical Installation that is associated with modern design implementation within the School Environment.
The installation and its fundamental conception ensured that the principles of Energy Conservation within the particular environment had been installed with the future in mind. This particularly came to the forefront in Daylight Dimming / Lighting Controls combined with Sensitive Presence Controls. Suited Master Key Controls to general Power Circuits ensured that Plug and Play items could not be left in a Position that devices could be left to waste energy.
Further Installations included:
• Fire Alarm
• CCTV & Door Access Control Systems
